German Parliamentary Group for Tibet Calls China to End abduction of the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet

Geneva: Marking the 27 years of abduction of Tibet’s Panchen Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima and his family, the German Parliamentary Group for Tibet renewed its voices to ascertain the well-being and whereabouts of the 11th Panchen Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima. The parliamentary group called upon China to end the abduction of Tibet’s 11th Panchen Lama, and end attacks on the religious freedom of the Tibetan people.

According to report, China has committed a heinous crime by abducting the six-year-old boy then Gedhun Choekyi Nyima. Even worse, the world does not know the actual fate of the Child-whether he is alive or not? There has been no credible information to determine that the 11th Panchen Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima is alive, said Hon’ble Michale Brand MdB, Chairman of the German Parliamentary Group for Tibet, in the press statement.

While highlighting China’s continued denial to provide verifiable information about the fate of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, Hon’ble Michael Brand called for concerted actions that “the world cannot effort to watch” this (abduction of Tibet’s 11th Panchen Lama) continued crime being committed by China “without reacting”.
