In recognition of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's dedication to protecting the environment worldwide, the Tibetan Community Britain (TCB) Board Members (2020–2022) have started a tree-planting project. The initiative also aims to express thanks for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama's unwavering commitment to the liberation and well-being of the Tibetan people. His Holiness' pledge to live for at least 113 years will be symbolised by the planting of 113 trees over two different locations. Additionally, it is fortunate that the project falls during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee year.
This is an international project to facilitate tree planting around the world, also an opportunity to plant 113 trees at Harewood Estate in West Yorkshire, England with the installation of plaque dedicated to His Holiness.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has been a great advocate for sustainability and protection of the global environment. His Holiness has stated “Taking care of our planet should be part of our daily lives. We need to work together to meet the climate challenge that affects us all.” One of the ways we can fulfil His Holiness advice is to plant trees.
